Hangleton Primary School

Our school council members are elected in each class every September for the new school year. The pupils of the school council are represented by two children from each class in the year groups 1-6.

School council aims to give children the opportunity to contribute to issues that are raised within the school. We have made all sorts of decisions - from what playground equipment to buy to how to improve lunchtimes. School Council members have been involved in staff interviews, they have helped outside agencies and have even been involved in the designing and building of a new sensory garden at the school.

We have regular meetings where minutes are taken and discussed back in each classroom to ensure all children across the school have a voice. This allows the school council children to have regular opportunities to gather ideas and concerns from their fellow class members.

There is a school council display board in the school that shows the work they have achieved and the children who are elected each year.
