School Council
The School Council now includes children from all year groups 1 to 6, set up to give children the opportunity to contribute to issues that are raised within the school. We have made all sorts of decisions - from what playground equipment to buy to how to improve lunchtimes.
We have monthly meetings with the Deputy and sometimes a Governor where minutes are taken and discussed back in each classroom. Members of the school council are responsible for carrying out the ideas that have been agreed, such as planning events, writing newsletter articles, or meeting with staff.
The pupils of the school council are represented by one child from each class. This year we also have a deputy who will fill in for the school councillor if they are absent. This child is voted for by the rest of the class at the beginning of the year. This child will have regular opportunities to gather ideas and concerns from their class members.
This year we are looking forward to developing a whole school antibullying policy.
Our school councillors for this year will be selected and displayed here by the end of September.
